Powerful tornado hits US states

At least 27 destructive tornadoes have been recorded in the United States. The hardest hit areas were Nebraska, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, Texas, Wyoming, Colorado, Kentucky, Alabama, and others; a state of emergency was declared in many states.

At least three people were killed by trees that fell during the storm, and several people were injured, CNN reports. Hundreds of houses were completely destroyed or severely damaged; published videos and photos show pieces of roofs torn out by the wind, garbage scattered around the area, crumpled trucks and cars, and downed power lines.

The storm is called the most powerful in the last 2.5 years, while its peak has not yet been passed, it will fall on April 27, forecasters predict. Future damage is already being called catastrophic.
